My Neighbourhoods has been launched in BETA mode, meaning it's been made available for the purposes of final-stage testing. Don't worry, your data is still secure. This just means there may be a few bugs or errors along the way, but we're asking you to let us know where these arise. It also means our users can impact on the use and functionality of the site. You can tell us how you want the site to develop during this BETA period.
Log in, click "View profile" of a member, then click "Send a message" and complete the form as directed. You can also click "Contact user" from the My Neighbours page and search results page.
Log in, click "My Messages" in the left hand menu, select the message you want to reply to, click "Reply" and complete the form as directed. Finally, click "Send" to deliver your message.
In partnership with Scoot, My Neighbourhoods brings you the business finder. To find a service in your area, in the Scoot search box, type in what you're looking for, such as florist, plumber, hairdresser, garden centre or whatever. Check your postcode in the second box and click on the search button.
Once you're logged in visit the 'Market Place' page, click 'Sell an item' and follow the simple instructions.
The messageboards can be used to make an announcement concerning your neighbourhood, an upcoming event, or maybe warn people of criminal activity. You can also recommend any local services you might have used recently (though you can't recommend your own - if you want to advertise your service you can do this in the Market Place). Posting a message is simple, type the message in the message box and press the submit button.
The forums differ from the messageboards in that you can ask questions and have discussions with other members within your neighbourhood. You could be looking for a service recommendation, or perhaps a car pool. As with the messageboards, simply type your comment into the comment box and click on the submit button.
On the messageboards and forum pages there is a link you can click on if you think someone is abusing the service or acting inappropriately. This will take you through to an email form.
If your question hasn't been answered, please visit the contact page to email the My Neighbourhoods team. We will endeavour to reply to your query within 24 hours.
When you register you will see that there are mandatory fields, such as your name, address, email address, username and password. However it is up to you how much information you would like to include in your profile. Obviously the more information you include about yourself, the more likely like-minded neighbours are going to contact you. You don't need to include any non-mandatory information when you register, you can edit your profile anytime you like. Just log in, go to the 'My Profile' page', then click, 'Edit Profile'.
Absolutely not. My Neighbourhoods does not display your name, address or email address. We are passionate about protecting your privacy online. Please see our privacy policy for more details.
To revisit the site when you've registered, you will need to go to the home page and enter your username and password in the log in section. These will have been confirmed in your validation email.
If you're having trouble logging in and you're on a shared computer, check another user hasn't logged in and is still logged in. If they are, click on the log out button then try logging in again.
When you register, you will receive a membership validation email. If you have not yet received this, it could be because you haven't provided us with the correct email address, or perhaps there's a typo in it.
The validation email may also have been caught by your spam filter. Check your spam folder and add My Neighbourhoods to your trusted list, if necessary.
When you've received the validation email, you'll need to click on the link provided to complete your registration.
If you're trying to log in but have forgotten your password, please click on the link under the login details 'Forgotten your password?'. We will then send you an email containing your password.
To change any of your personal details, you will need to log in and go to the 'My Profile' area of the site. You can then edit your personal information, change your password and your email address.
To remove all your details from the site by unsubscribing, please click 'Unsubscribe' at the bottom of the page. You will need to be logged in to unsubscribe.
Full membership is now FREE!
