About us

My Neighbourhoods was created by Danny Bull and Charlotte Brinton with a simple aim - to bring people in the same neighbourhood and local community together. Online communities are great for meeting people from all walks of life, for chatting to people from the other side of the world, or if you're lucky, the other side of your city, but where does that leave getting to know your neighbours?

My Neighbourhoods is the online community with a difference. Just like other online communities, it allows you to chat to and get to know different people, view their profiles, share ideas and thoughts, but unlike most online communities, these friendships don't need to remain virtual. You'll be talking to your immediate neighbours, to people who live in your street, or in your area.

Why we started My Neighbourhoods

We were wondering how to get know our neighbours. Knock on their doors? Perhaps they don't want to get to know us. We wanted to create a modern tool to help with getting to know local people, but at the same time without being intrusive to those who are quite happy not to know who lives next door.

When you move into a new area, how do you find a reliable plumber, builder or electrician? A good car mechanic? A child minder? Are there local events suitable for children? This is the aim of My Neighbourhoods. To help build supportive and safe communities, online and outside your front door.

My Neighbourhoods is free to register. You can see neighbour profiles, browse classified listings, find local businesses and services, and view the messageboards and forums. We also provide local information for you, your house and home, your local area and the local population.

People throughout the UK can interact with the site, contact members, post comments in forums and on messageboards, and sell online in the Market Place - all for FREE!
