It is with great sadness that we announce My Neighbourhoods is shutting down. It has been an extremely interesting few years but it's not possible for the site to continue in the face of bigger and better funded competition as well as other commitments. My Neighbourhoods was started, built and paid for by two people who wanted to make a difference to local people and their neighbours. We had an impact but not a big enough one.

Fortunately, there are other sites out there trying to achieve something similar. A couple we like the look of are Streetlife and Geomium.
